2014 LIMITED PRESSURE-VELOCITY JOURNAL BEARING TEST EQUIPMENT DESIGN FOR DETERMINING OF TRIBOLOGICAL BEHAVIOURS OF POLYMERS

Many test apparatus and machine are used to determine and investigate the tribological behaviors of materials. Especially, pin on disk test equipment is widely used as tribological measurement device for materials. Polymer Journal bearings are used in many industrial applications that require high wear resistance, cost, weight, silent operation and easy manufacturability at non-lubricated dry conditions and low velocity. To determine tribological behaviors of polymer journal bearing the limited pressurevelocity test equipment for have been designed to investigate friction coefficient, temperature and indirectly wear rate. Designed LPV test equipment contains three temperature measurement stations by using surface thermocouples, friction coefficient measurement by using loadcell and software to obtain the measured data.

2014 METALİK TOZ KAYMALI YATAKLARIN YENİ DİZAYN KAYMALI YATAK TEST DONANIMI İLE TRİBOLOJİK ÖZELLİKLERİNİN İNCELENMESİ - INVESTIGATION OF TRIBOLOGICAL BEHAVIOURS OF METALLIC POWDER JOURNAL BEARING BY USING NEW DESIGNED JOURNAL BEARING TEST EQUIPMENT

Metal toz teknolojisi endüstriyel alanlarda sıklıkla kullanılmaktadır. Toz metalurjisi ile üretilen kaymalı yatakların malzemeleri genel itibariyle Cu, Fe, Sn tozlarıdır. Metalik tozların ana uygulama alanı fren diskleri, balata, kaymalı yatak, diferansiyel dişli, piston rod gibi otomotiv endüstrisidir. Bu alanda kullanılmasının başlıca nedeni kolay ve hızlı üretim ve minumum atık malzeme olmasıdır. Metallik tozlar üretilen parçaların tribolojik davranışlarının belirlenmesi için pin on disk gibi test cihazları kullanılmaktadır.Fakat bu donanımlar küçük ölçekli firmalar için oldukça maliyetlidir. Küçük ölçekli firmaların Ar-Ge yeterli kadar bütçe ayıramamaları da üretimini yaptıkları bu tip numunelerin denemelerine imkan tanımamktadır. Yeni tasarım kaymalı yatak test donanımı kolay üretim maliyeti ve ölçümü sağlamaktadır. Küçük ölçekli imalat firmaları minimum imkân ile kullanabileceklerdir. Yeni test donanımı oldukça pratik ve uygulanabilirdir. Bu donanım mesafe ölçümü için iki komparatör, imalat firmalarında bulunan üniversal torna, ağırlık çubuğu, kaymalı yatak kafesi, kaymalı yatak tutucu ve kaymalı yatak aşındırıcı parçasından oluşmaktadır. Metal powder technology are commonly used many heavy running conditions in Industrial areas. These generally used powder materials are Cu, Fe, Sn powders. Metallic powder main application area is automotive industry such as brake disk, brake lining, journal bearings, differential gear, piston rod etc. Because, these are easy production, speed production and minimum waste materials. To determine the tribological behaviours of metallic powder components, many method are used like pin on disk. However, to use the equipment, it has been need to be high cost. And so, small scale firms couldn’t defray this cost to invest the Ar-Ge department. In addition, some tribological measurement equipment does not suffice the required measurement for metallic journal bearing according to changing application areas. The new designed journal bearing equipment provides easy production cost and measurement. The small scale manufacturing firms can use their minimum opportunities. The new testing method is easy applicable. The new metallic journal bearing equipments contain two comparators to measure displacements of journal bearing, universal lathe that is the main manufacturing machine and is available machine for small scale firms, weight rods to contact and pressure the journal bearing through cage, journal bearing holder and journal bearing abrasive counter parts.
